Director of police in the Serbian Ministry of Interior Milorad Veljovic announced today that the priority of the police will be the fight against organised crime.

In a first informal meeting with journalists after his appointment as police chief, Veljovic stressed that the Interior Ministry’s service for fighting organised crime will be enforced with professionals adding that only work and professionalism will be considered.
According to him, former head of the public security service and Assistant Minister of Interior Miroslav Milosevic is still assistant minister. He added that the new law abolished the position of public security head.
Veljkovic announced he will hold press conferences at least once a month.
