New system of primary health care as of 2007

Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic announced today that a new system of primary health care will be introduced as of January 1, 2007.
Milosavljevic said at Vienna Economic Forum that after a number of years of neglect, that system is now completely "covered" with €150 per capita, owing to a donation from the European Union that has been released in the past five years. In addition, larger amounts have been set aside from the state budget for that purpose.
He recalled that negotiations with the European Investment Bank are currently underway to obtain a loan for investing in four large university clinical centres, including the Torlak Institute.
The Minister of Health said €100 million will be invested by 2007, and that advisors for privatisation of rehabilitation centres will be hired soon.
