Israeli Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Yaffa Ben-Ari opened the sixth Serbian-Israeli business forum in Belgrade today, which gathers around 70 Israeli firms eying cooperation with Serbia.
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus said the presence of such a large number of Israeli companies in Belgrade is a very good sign, given that they include firms with state-of-the-art technology that Serbia is lacking in.
Labus voiced readiness to provide all necessary information for the Israeli firms concerning Serbia’s 2004 economic policy, as well as concerning specific needs of particular companies.
Yaffa Ben-Ari said representatives of Israeli companies have come to Serbia to get acquainted with terms of doing business here and to find appropriate business partners for prospective joint ventures.
She pointed to the significance of an agreement with the Serbian government on reliefs for Israeli investors, which is due to be signed next week.
