Local media to become journalists’ ownership

Serbian Minister of Culture Dragan Kojadinovic said that “instructions for the privatisation of media,” drafted by the ministry, will calls for proofs on the origin of money used to buy media.

Kojadinovic told Cacak’s weekly newspaper Cacanski Glas that he has “found a formula for journalists to become the owners of local media.” According to him, journalists in local media should “get part of the shares for free, while the rest they should buy after drawing a loan.”
Kojadinovic added that he will call on the state to set up a guarantee fund for media, similar to the one that insures housing loans.
