Through the "Growth Plan" for the Western Balkans of the European Union, a large package of financial aid of six billion euros is foreseen for the period of the next four years, which aims to accelerate reforms and the accession of the Western Balkans to the Union.
Djedovic Handanovic presented Serbia's plans in the energy sector, which are part of the "Leap into the Future - Serbia 2027" plan.
According to her, we have a clear plan of necessary investments in the energy sector, which are also defined in strategic documents.
Also, as she added, we have defined priorities in the sector of electricity production, transmission and distribution, energy storage, as well as in the oil and gas sector in accordance with our goals in the energy transition and diversification of supply sources.
Without sustainable financing, the implementation of projects is not realistic, therefore EU support on the path of green transition and reform of our energy mix towards cleaner energy sources is very important to us, Djedovic Handanovic stressed.
The European Union is the biggest donor to the energy sector in Serbia, with investments exceeding €1 billion in grant funds since 2000.
