President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today, at the opening of the Serbia-Greece Business Forum, that Greek companies and financial institutions are welcome in Serbia.
At the gathering, which was held at the Palace of Serbia, Vucic noted that Serbia and Greece are connected by emotions and true friendship, stressing that the two countries can do a lot together.
We will have to work harder and fight for every Greek and Serbian company, to fight for our entry onto the Greek market in different areas, but also to attract as many Greek companies here as possible, he stated.
Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that he sees that Serbia has ambitious economic goals until 2027 and that he is convinced that Greek companies will become part of the success that the Serbian economy will achieve.
He asked the Greek companies, which are present at the forum, to pay special attention to the great progress that Serbia has made in the previous years.
We pay great attention to the corridors that connect Serbia and Greece through North Macedonia. We want most of Serbia's exports to pass through Greece, and it is important for us to improve the railway network, the Prime Minister of Greece underlined.
Before the Forum, Vucic and Mitsotakis discussed cooperation in the energy sector - oil pipelines, gas pipelines, gas purchases, renewable energy sources, wind farms, battery parks.
Speaking at a joint press conference, Vucic said that there was also talk of cooperation between the two countries' electricity companies, transport and infrastructure.
Serbia needs a port because of exports which will be greater, and it is important for us to use the capacities of both Thessaloniki and Piraeus, to buy part of the port. When we increase automobile production, with mines and ironworks, we will need that, Vucic said.
