Serbian Minister of Interior Dragan Jocic told the Serbian parliament’s security committee that during the arrest operation in the village of Meljak, when Zemun Clan leaders Dusan Spasojevic and Mile Lukovic were killed, the police did not follow the rules of the use of firearms.
Head of the Public Security at the Serbian Ministry of Interior Miroslav Milosevic said state organs will investigate the entire operation in Meljak.
He told the committee that the ministry has received an official request from the District Prosecutor’s Office to submit a detailed report on how the operation was planned, how Spasojevic and Lukovic were killed, what resources and weapons were used in the operation, and how a third person managed to escape from the site.
Inspector General Vladimir Bozovic said several cases of torture were recorded during the operation Saber.
