Minister of Economy Slobodan Cvetkovic talked today, during a business meeting with representatives of twenty Slovenian companies operating in Serbia, about the further improvement of economic cooperation between the two countries.
On that occasion, Cvetkovic highlighted the exceptional importance of Slovenian investors in Serbia and, pointing to the stable business, political and energy environment in our country, as well as good infrastructure, invited potential investors to invest in our country.
He recalled that Slovenia is one of the ten largest investors in Serbia and that Slovenian companies employ more than 20,000 workers.
Regardless of the fact that the exchange of goods between Serbia and Slovenia is at a high level, almost €1.3 billion, there is an intention to increase it further in the coming period, the Minister pointed out.
Cvetkovic added that Serbia attracted more than 60 percent of all foreign direct investments in the region, and that last year the inflow of those investments amounted to €4.4 billion, which is by far the highest in the Western Balkans region.
When two key inputs are taken into account, namely a quality workforce and a more favourable price of energy, it means that investors in Serbia have a comparative advantage, because their final products and services are more competitive, said Cvetkovic.
