Minister of Economy Slobodan Cvetkovic met today with Ambassador of Israel to Serbia Yahel Vilan, with whom he discussed the further development of economic cooperation between the two countries.
Cvetkovic stated that the two countries can additionally strengthen economic cooperation with joint forces and joint initiatives and expressed his expectation that more Israeli investors will use favourable conditions for investing in the Serbian market in the coming period.
Economic cooperation is crucial for the development of bilateral relations and I am particularly pleased that a large number of Israeli companies do business in Serbia, the Minister said.
Israel is one of the most important investors, and the total foreign trade exchange between the two countries in the first eight months of this year stands at €71.5 million.
Ambassador Vilan said that Israeli investors are satisfied with doing business in Serbia, adding that the resumed direct flight between Belgrade and Tel Aviv is of great help for the business community.
During the meeting, the interlocutors assessed that there is room for additional improvement of economic cooperation between the two countries, according to a statement from the Ministry of Economy.
