Free trade agreement with Egypt sure path to closer economic integration

Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirovic said after meeting with Minister of Trade and Industry of Egypt Ahmed Samir Saleh, during his official visit to Egypt, that in order to intensify economic cooperation of Serbia and Egypt, is working rapidly in order to successfully conclude the negotiations on the bilateral Free Trade Agreement.

Momirovic estimated that the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries could be concluded by the end of the year and added that our political relations have deep roots.

We went through difficult times together in the past and it is time to transfer those political relations to the growth of trade between Serbia and Egypt, and when we sign the Free Trade Agreement in the presence of our two presidents, we will open a new page in the cooperation between our two countries, Momirovic said.

According to him, during today's meeting, an important step was taken towards building stronger relations between Serbia and Egypt, with the aim of enabling even better conditions for the improvement of overall bilateral, especially economic relations and trade cooperation.

We held a really good meeting and jointly concluded that we need to give a new perspective to our companies and we need to increase the trade exchange between our two countries, Momirovic concluded.

During the day, Minister Momirovic also met with Egyptian businessmen who were presented with the potential of investing in Serbia, and the strengthening of cooperation, investments and trade between our two countries was also discussed.
