Loncar told the gathering at Belgrade’s Hyatt hotel, hosted by the Swedish Embassy to Serbia-Montenegro, that experts will work in a precise plan in the strategy, with accurate deadlines for the implementation of reforms, which he said should enable depolitization and decentralization of the public administration.
According to him, aside from the ministry, a political body headed by the prime minister will take part in the implementation of reforms, as well as an expert team with an advisory role. He added that the line minister will be responsible for results and consequences of the reforms.
Loncar stressed that main guidelines in the reform of the public administration are to establish a legal framework, improve human resources management, and apply up-to-date information and communication technologies so as to create a more functional and economical public administration, the Beta news agency reported.
Swedish Ambassador Lars-Goran Engfeldt said that Serbian citizens and local firms are fast adapting to the use of new information technologies, which he said is of utmost importance for Serbia’s integration into Europe.
He expressed the hope that the experience of Swedish experts, to be presented at the seminar, will be useful to experts carrying out reforms in Serbia.
