Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirovic said today that the export of goods from Serbia to China in 2022 reached a record $1.2 billion, and that an increasing number of domestic companies sees a perspective in exports to that country – especially food and consumer goods.

Chinese provinces open to economic cooperation with Serbia

After the meeting with a Chinese business delegation, led by Director of the Trade Bureau of the city of Ningbo Zhang Yan, Momirovic pointed out that the Chinese provinces are increasingly opening up to cooperation with Serbia, and that Ningbo intends to import goods worth several billion dollars from the countries of the Central and of Eastern Europe, which is a huge opportunity for domestic companies.
According to him, another big step was taken today so that Serbian companies will appear among the companies from Poland, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia at the upcoming Investment and Trade Fair of China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in Ningbo.
It is a phenomenal opportunity to present domestic products to the Chinese market, increase exports to China, but also to lay strong foundations and strengthen ties between Serbian and Chinese companies ahead of the signing of the Free Trade Agreement, Momirovic said.
