Vesic pointed out that the work on the construction of the Belgrade metro is progressing well and pointed out the contribution of French companies Alstom, Egis and RATP to the realisation of this project.
The Minister assessed that the French Vinci is also doing an excellent job on the construction of the Nikola Tesla Airport, and that, in accordance with the contract, the French company has so far invested €150 million, out of the total of €732 million it will invest in the renovation and construction of the airport.
As soon as next year, in the spring, the Belgrade airport will be able to receive 15 million passengers, three times more than today. By the end of this year alone, the airport will have more than six million passengers and will be, by number of passengers, by far the largest in this part of Europe, the Minister said.
Mondoloni thanked Vesic for everything that was jointly done for Belgrade, during the time he was in the diplomatic service in Serbia, as well as for all the cooperation with French companies.
He said that today he also visited the Monument of Gratitude to France in Belgrade, which was renovated thanks to joint work and investment, and recalled that it was at that place that French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the citizens of Serbia.
Mondoloni also stated that it would be good if the agreements on works on the Belgrade metro were ready for signing next year.
He added that for French company Suez, the project "Vinca" is extremely important.
