Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirovic signed in Tirana today with representatives of countries of the Western Balkans a document entitled “Commitment to the Roads of Future”, which deals with investments in modern road infrastructure and promotion of alternative fuels.

The document was signed during the Western Balkans Road Summit, organised by the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community, European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
“Commitment to the Roads of Future” deals with the development of sustainable roads, with the focus on climate resistance of the road network and the introduction of fuels with zero-carbon emissions, introduction of intelligent transport system, interoperability of electronic toll collection throughout the region, construction of charging stations for electric cars, promotion of alternative fuels, increasing traffic safety at rail crossings and improving safety of vulnerable categories of road users.
At the end of the summit, Director of public company “Putevi Srbije” Zoran Drobnjak will sign a memorandum of understanding together with colleagues from Western Balkan countries.
