On that occasion, Vucic emphasised that the state has provided sufficient quantities of basic foodstuffs, that commodity reserves are full, and that the coming months will be used to provide additional quantities of energy and food, before autumn and winter, which will not be easy.
He pointed out to the fact that, in terms of food and energy, we are facing a difficult autumn and winter.
Therefore it is crucial for us to provide sufficient quantities of energy, and we will start building new storage facilities for diesel and crude oil, for which we need a year and a half, he said and added that further construction of gas storage facilities will follow.
According to him, it is also important to provide sufficient quantities of coal and fuel oil, which will not be easy if the conflict in Ukraine does not stop.
Vucic also emphasised that he had a very good conversation today with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, and that the main elements of the gas agreement, which are very favourable for Serbia, were agreed upon.
We will sign a contract for three years, the formula will remain the same, the price will be very favourable and it remains to reach an agreement on the quantity in talks with Gazprom, he explained.
If we realise all this, we will have a safe winter in terms of gas supply, and depending on additional talks, we will know the price. At the moment, it is almost three times less than everyone else in Europe will pay, Vucic pointed out.
We will continue to prepare. We have June, July and August ahead of us for complete preparations in these two key areas of energy supply and food procurement. That is a huge financial burden for the country, but we are looking at how to solve it without any problems for the citizens, he said.
