Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selakovic sent today a letter of congratulations to Catherine Colonna on the occasion of her appointment to the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the French Republic.
Selakovic stated in the letter that he is convinced that Serbia and France, which are inextricably linked historically, and are today strategic partners, will continue to improve the traditionally close relations and cooperation in the spirit of mutual understanding and in line with European values.
Serbia is sincerely committed to the further improvement and strengthening of the overall bilateral relations with France, the Minister wrote and at the same time expressed gratitude for the continued support of that country to Serbia’s reform process on the path of realisation of its priority goal – full membership in the European Union.
I assure you that the Republic of Serbia is strongly committed to cherishing European values and preserving peace and stability in the region through dialogue, in which, I am convinced, we will continue to have a full support of your country, he stated.
Selakovic expressed the expectation that he will have an opportunity to meet with the new French Minister of Foreign Affairs in the coming period.
