Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali held a final meeting today with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission, led by Jan Kees Martijn, that was in Belgrade for the second revision of the current arrangement with Serbia.
At the end of the second revision of the arrangement, it was concluded that Serbia has coped well with the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and that it is now important to maintain macroeconomic and fiscal stability, especially in conditions of great uncertainty caused by global events.
When it comes to the current arrangement, Mali pointed out that a large number of goals have been met, and that it is important to continue with structural reforms, especially in the field of public companies.
In that sense, the most important are the reforms of the companies from the energy sector, in order to be ready for the next winter, as well as the efficient management in those companies.
In the context of reforms, activities on the reform of the Tax Administration will be continued, and in that sense, the project of new e-fiscalisation is extremely important, which means that from 1 May, all taxpayers will have new fiscal devices.
The officials assessed that it is good that the inflow of foreign direct investments has continued, and especially that talks with large investors are currently underway, which is an excellent indicator of the state of our economy.
