Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selakovic met today with Head of the EU Delegation Emanuele Giaufret and Ambassadors of the EU Member States accredited to Serbia.
Selakovic informed the ambassadors about the conclusion of the National Security Council, which was adopted by the government of Serbia on February 27 regarding the situation in Ukraine.
He said that Serbia expresses its most sincere regret over the outbreak of the crisis and conflict in Ukraine, emphasising that we consider it very wrong to violate the territorial integrity and sovereignty of every state, Ukraine included.
In accordance with that, the Minister reminded that our country very clearly calls for respect for the principles of international law, emphasising that this is the basis of our foreign policy.
He reiterated that our country fully supports the negotiations between the two sides and all credible international efforts to find a peaceful and political solution to the crisis in Ukraine.
In these challenging times, Serbia will continue to consistently preserve peace and stability in Southeast Europe, Selakovic said, emphasising that modern challenges show that all disagreements on our continent must be resolved by peaceful means and dialogue.
