Intensive cooperation between police forces of Serbia, UAE

Belgrade/Dubai, 25 February 2022

Minister of Interior Aleksandar Vulin talked today in Dubai with Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of the Interior Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan about continuing cooperation and improving relations between the two countries, internal affairs, economy and all other social spheres.

Vulin, who is on an official visit to the UAE, pointed out on that occasion that relations between the two countries have been developing intensively in recent years and are at a high level.

The Minister thanked the host for understanding Serbia's position on the request of the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina for membership in Interpol, while Al-Nahyan thanked Vulin for Serbia's support for the election of their candidate Ahmed Nasser Al-Raisi as Interpol president.

Vulin pointed out that the cooperation between the police of Serbia and the UAE is intensively developing and that there is room for its improvement, especially in the areas of the fight against organised and high-tech crime, but also the development and use of modern technologies.

He stressed that the Serbian police is a reliable international partner in the fight against organised crime and is open to strengthening cooperation in this area, both through the exchange of operational data and through joint training, especially on money laundering and high-tech crime, with a special emphasis on cryptocurrencies, which accompany criminal groups involved in drug trafficking.
