Serbia committed to finding global solutions for a better future for all

Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications and Commissioner General of the Republic of Serbia for "Expo 2020 Dubai" Tatjana Matic officially opened the all-day celebration of Serbian Statehood Day within the World Exhibition in Dubai.

On that occasion, Matic pointed out that "Expo 2020 Dubai" exceeded all expectations in terms of flawless organisation of the World Exhibition, impressive appearance and concept, but also the importance and mission.

It is a great honour for me to present my country today on the Statehood Day of Serbia, the Minister emphasised.

She pointed out that she is especially pleased that the state of Serbia solemnly celebrates its independence and the adoption of its first constitution, its spirit of freedom and essential democracy, with people who come from all over the world.

"Expo 2020 Dubai", which raised the value of culture, connected the past and the future, tradition and technology, is an opportunity for us to show these ties from our point of view, as Serbia is forward-looking in its economic and creative rise, but not forgetting its roots and heritage, said Matic.

The Minister pointed out that our participation in this world exhibition enables us not only to present our potentials, but also to develop business networks and raise the image of our country, as well as to work on further strengthening the partnership between Serbia and the UAE.

Matic pointed out that the two countries are committed to strengthening bilateral relations, and that these few months have been extremely dedicated to promoting overall cooperation and solidarity between different countries, adding that we will all strive to implement the message of this exhibition: "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future".

In our culture and politics, we remain faithful to the idea of a free man who thinks, progresses and who respects other people. Our topic at the world exhibition is "Serbia Creates Ideas", we are oriented towards creativity, ideas, we look to the future, we find inspiration in the past, and our weapons are knowledge and development, the minister said.

The Minister stated that by participating in the World Exhibition, Serbia became a part of an impressive global initiative for sustainable technological rise and strengthened partnership relations with the UAE.

Minister of Tolerance of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, who is also the Commissioner of the World Exhibition "Expo 2020 Dubai", expressed satisfaction with attending the celebration of Serbian Statehood Day, adding that by participating in this exhibition, Serbia is committed to finding global solutions for a better future for all.

He pointed out the strong bilateral relations between Serbia and the UAE, which have developed especially in previous years, saying that cooperation will be strengthened in all areas.
