Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended today the presentation of the multi-year project “Belgrade 2030” and underlined that the vision of further development of the capital city is very important for the further growth and development of entire Serbia.
The “Belgrade 2030” project was presented in nine chapters covering the most important topics – from competitive economy, through urban infrastructure, health and social policy to innovation, new technologies and environmental protection.
Speaking about what it was like in 2014, Brnabic said that Serbia needed momentum for faster economic growth and development and revival of our construction industry.
At that time, in the midst of difficult and necessary measures of fiscal consolidation, Belgrade, and especially the project "Belgrade Waterfront", gave that momentum to Serbia. And not only that, that project moved all of us to believe that the future in our country could be much different in relation to how we lived then, what our economy looked like then and what our perspective was, she said.
The Prime Minister underlined that Serbia has changed a lot since then.
She explained that today the economy is growing dynamically, unemployment is falling, salaries and pensions are continuously increasing, and we are being recognised more and more, not only Belgrade, but the whole of Serbia, as a country of knowledge, talent, creativity, innovation, ideas, and not as a country of cheap labour.
Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic expounded all nine chapters included in the "Belgrade 2030" project.
These include a competitive urban economy, social responsibility and equality, urban infrastructure, Belgrade's demographic growth and development, investment environment and investment efficiency, social infrastructure for prosperity, Belgrade as the creative capital city of the Balkans, urban comfort and mobility and sustainable environment.
