Prime Minister Ana Brnabic called on the citizens to go to a referendum tomorrow and vote for a change in the Constitution in the field of justice, which will bring greater rule of law and stronger institutions in our country.
Addressing the press in Obrenovac, where she visited the dispatch centre of JKP "Toplovod Obrenovac", Brnabic pointed out that tomorrow is extremely important for our entire country, that the so-called judicial reform from 2009, which was actually political purge of judges and which cost the citizens €44.4 million.
She underlined that the referendum is the most important thing for strengthening our country at this moment, and once again called on the citizens to vote for the change of the Constitution, which will bring an independent judiciary and an independent prosecutor's office.
Tomorrow, the citizens of Serbia will have the opportunity to answer "yes" or "no" to the question "Are you in favour of determining the act on changing the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia?".
The Constitution is being changed in the field of justice in order to harmonise Serbian legislation with the European one in the process of Serbia's accession to the EU, and the changes refer to the manner of electing judges and prosecutors in order to reduce the influence of politics in that process.
