Speaking in the Serbian government, where the Prime Minister attended the presentation of access to patients' health data through the mentioned portal and a mobile application together with Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar, she explained that data access through the portal is starting from today, and in a few days, it will also be possible via a mobile application.
She stated that patients’ elected doctors can now access health information of their patients from other health institutions by using the information systems they use in their everyay work.
This is a big, but only the first step in the complete digitalisation of health care, the Prime Minister assessed and added that 70 percent of health care institutions have been linked into the system so far, and that private health care institutions will soon be linked as well.
The Prime Minister emphasised that no government in the history of Serbia has invested more in the health care than the current government and pointed out that in the last few years, slightly more than €1 billion have been invested in the renovation and construction of health care infrastructure.
Brnabic added that the state invests in the salaries of health workers in Serbia too and that they have been significantly increased.
Namely, salaries for nurses and technicians have doubled in the last ten years, and for doctors between 65 and 75 percent, but even that is not enough, and we will continue to work on that.
Loncar pointed out that thanks to the online access to health data, it will be possible to recognise many things in time, start with treatment and prevent complications.
The Minister explained that thanks to this system, when a patient goes to a private clinic, that institution will not have to repeat analyses as it will be able to see everything that has been done up to that moment.
