Busek stressed the significance of a regional free trade agreement and pointed out that the Pact will continue to support Serbia-Montenegro’s Euro-Atlantic integration, reads a statement. He added that he will do everything to promote Serbia’s economy in upcoming European business forums, so as to encourage foreign investors to invest in this market.
Labus and Busek welcomed the results of talks between the Serbian government and representatives of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund during the spring meeting in Washington between April 23 and 26, which they said brought the country back to the reform path and provided assurances that Serbia is a safe country to invest in.
Busek also promised assistance in the implementation of agreed infrastructure projects, notably in the areas of oil, gas, energy, and electricity supply.
The two officials also agreed that the development and implementation of projects within the REBIS programme, initiated by the European Commission, should be sped up. The REBIS focuses on the development of the multimodal Core Regional Transport Network for the Western Balkans, the statement added.
