Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirovic signed today in Dubai, within Expo 2020, the Memorandum of Understanding with the company DP World, which enables Serbia to join the World Logistic Passport (WLP) network.
The document was also signed by President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Cadez and CEO of the World Logistics Passport Network Mike Bhaskaran.
Upon signing the Memorandum, Momirovic pointed out that with the World Logistics Passport, Serbia is becoming one of the twenty countries in the world and the only country in Europe that will be able to distribute its products on more favourable terms.
DP World’s World Logistics Passport project enables the Serbian economy to reduce transport costs and reach markets around the world faster. We are providing our companies with a new logistics line that can shorten the time of placing goods on the markets of Africa, the Gulf countries, Asia and the Middle East by eight to 10 days, Chadez pointed out.
Dubai is one of the network's largest platforms, with 18 local partners such as DP World and Emirates Skycargo, which currently offer merchants, freight forwarders and logistics 80 benefits, such as cheaper and more efficient freight transport, according to a statement from the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.
