In a conversation with the editor of the magazine, Amy Mackinnon, Brnabic pointed out that many state institutions managed to do the administration during the pandemic, thanks to the electronic service eGovernment.
In that way, as she emphasized, it is possible for students in Serbia to attend school without interruption, by organising online classes.
It also helped us a lot in the vaccination campaign. We created a system on which citizens could completely do everything related to immunisation, we enabled electronic reporting and then we reminded them for revaccination, as we are doing now for the third, i.e., booster dose, the Prime Minister pointed out.
Mackinnon was interested in how the government of Serbia faced the problem of the departure of young educated staff from the country.
Brnabic said that the government made efforts to support these people to return to the country, and in that sense stated that tax reliefs had been introduced for companies that employ our people from the diaspora.
We support them to return to the country and we see that it is happening, but the problem of brain drain still exists, only to a much lesser extent, the Prime Minister said.
Brnabic also spoke about the position of women in society in Serbia and in that sense stated that they are increasingly occupying important places in running the country, at the state and local level.
According to her, a lot is being done through judicial reforms when it comes to the fight against violence against women, but also in the realization of their basic rights.
This is a serious issue and it takes time to solve all the problems in that regard, Brnabic said.
She added that during the virus pandemic in Serbia, an increase in violence was noticed, but also psychosomatic problems such as panic attacks, depression, not only in women, but in the entire population.
The Prime Minister pointed out that membership in the European Union is a strategic goal of Serbia and added that it is important that other countries in the region make progress on the European path.
Brnabic mentioned that for the stability of the region, it is of great importance for the European Union to give a positive signal to other countries in the Western Balkans, especially North Macedonia and Albania.
That is important for stability, the integration of the Western Balkans is in the interest of the EU, the countries in the region, all of us, Brnabic said.
Commenting on the latest report of the European Commission on Serbia's progress in European integration, the Prime Minister stated that the progress of our country in all areas was recognised.
After several years, Serbia has such a positive report and recommendation of the European Commission to open two clusters, the Prime Minister pointed out and added that now we are working with each member state individually because it depends on them whether those two clusters will be opened at the Intergovernmental Conference.
Brnabic also said that Serbia continues with reforms, not only because of European integration, but also because of the progress of the entire society in Serbia.
