The Prime Minister was welcomed in Mostar by the Mayor of that city, Mario Kordic, with whom she toured the Old Town and the Old Bridge, from which the traditional jump into the River Neretva was performed in her honour.
Speaking about the support for the Serbian community in Mostar, she stated that she came to visit everything that has been realised so far, but also to inquire what else needs to be done.
The Holy Trinity Cathedral is the most important project, and the financing of the Prosvijeta School is extremely important, she said, noting that this is continuously done every year by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and today the Office for IT and eGovernment donated laptops, printers and cameras.
Answering the questions of journalists, the Prime Minister announced that the beginning of the construction of the airport in Trebinje, which will be financed by Serbia, is expected next year, and underlined that it will be of great importance not only for Republika Srpska, but for the entire region.
I am proud that Serbia has the economic power and strength to invest in such a project of regional importance, she declared and added that the expropriation of land for that project will be completed soon, followed by the preparation of technical documentation, which has already begun.
Brnabic opened the cultural event "Santic's Poetry Evenings" in Vladicanski Dvor in Mostar and said that this city is a European crossroads of cultures in the true sense of that word.
The Prime Minister stated that she will return to this city on the Neretva many more times, both privately and officially, to help on behalf of Serbia as much as she can in the projects of education and culture and to create together a better and more beautiful future for new generations.
