The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia rejected the no-confidence motion against the government tonight, with 40 MPs voting in favour, 135 against and one of the 176 present MPs abstaining.

Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, said in his closing remarks today that the work of the Government will be judged solely by results, not political controversies, because responsibility towards citizens is the only measure of the success of any government.
Macut pointed out that the Government took responsibility at one of the most difficult moments for the country, when the priority was to preserve peace, stability and the functioning of institutions, and noted that dialogue, responsibility and readiness for discussion were key in resolving the most complex social issues.
He recalled that over the previous months, economic stability had been preserved, investments had continued to be attracted, and new jobs had been created, and investments had been made in education, healthcare, infrastructure and social programmes, while Serbia had continued to pursue a responsible and balanced foreign policy, strengthening its international position.
The Prime Minister stated that the Government remains committed to working in the interests of all citizens of Serbia, with the conviction that challenges can only be addressed through responsible policies, concrete measures and a clear development plan.
According to him, the Government’s priorities in the coming period remain the preservation of peace and stability, further economic growth, raising citizens’ living standards and the continuation of dialogue, while making decisions that are in the best interest of Serbia.
Macut stated that the Government will continue to lead Serbia responsibly, ensuring stability and maintaining a clear vision of the future.
