Belgrade, 3 Oct 2021 – Prime Minister Ana Brnabic led today, at the Jajinci memorial park, a state delegation at the event marking the Remembrance Day of the Suffering of Serbs, Roma and Jews at this execution site in the Second World War.
Brnabic stated that today Serbia is firmly committed to the road of peace because we have learned lessons from the turbulent history and suffering of the Serbian people during the 20th century.
Today, our country tirelessly highlights that on our road of progress, our main principles are peace, predictability and stability.
Peace, almost at any cost, this is what we have been repeating during the past seven years, since Serbia started to change profoundly and to return to itself and the values of its ancestors, some of whom gave their lives in this very place, she said.
The Prime Minister underlined that Serbia of today is economically stable, military strong, respected by all in the international political arena and it is respected because of the responsible policy for which President Aleksandar Vucic paved the way.
She added that our country scores victories in the economy, science, sports, culture, modern technologies, strong international relations, to which projects and investments in Serbia testify.
Brnabic said that Serbia of today does not allow to be humiliated, noting that the previous two weeks have shown that the fight for the preservation and safety of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija is becoming increasingly challenging.
The state has demonstrated that it is ready to protect its people, she said.
Fascism could never take root in Serbia and its people, nor will it do so today, Brnabic said and underlined that we cherish values of our ancestors who gave their lives for freedom and a better future for the Serbian people.
According to her, by holding onto the policy of compromise, but not at any cost, we bow to the fallen victims, with the promise that their ideals, as well as the defiant country that they left us as a legacy, will remain so for centuries to come.
