Joksimovic pointed out that her recent visit to Berlin once again showed that Germany is a very important partner for Serbia on its path to membership in the European Union.
She underlined that the Government of Serbia is very responsible in approaching the reforms to which it has committed itself, above all, those in the field of rule of law, which are the key measures for the progress of negotiations in all other areas.
The Minister expressed the expectation that the EU will be fully ready to apply the new methodology, in order to accelerate the dynamics of the accession process.
According to her, by implementing immunisation, but also by intensified political activities in the region, Serbia continues its activities to strengthen the resilience of the economy, but also to recover the health of the population from the consequences of the pandemic.
By strengthening regional cooperation, and above all by constructive participation in solving challenges, we will achieve one of the common goals of both Serbia and the Western Balkans, and I believe the Union itself, and that is EU enlargement in this area, with the fulfilment of all preconditions, she said.
Schieb stated that Germany supports the policy of EU enlargement, as well as the process of European integration of Serbia, and especially highlighted the expectations from reforms in the field of rule of law, democratisation, freedom of the media and improvement of the work of the judiciary.
They are crucial for further progress in the accession negotiations, but also for a better life for the citizens of Serbia, Schieb stated.
