Prime Minister Ana Brnabic pointed out today that the percentage of those immunised in the younger population is bad, announcing that a big event will be held tomorrow to launch a campaign for vaccination of young people aged 16 to 25.
Brnabic expressed the expectation that this would result in a larger number of vaccinated in that population, where the percentage of those who are immunised is problematic.
Tomorrow, we will launch a campaign, during which I will continue to visit Serbia and appeal to people to get vaccinated, because that is the only way to defeat the coronavirus and continue with a normal life, the Prime Minister pointed out.
As a good thing, she pointed out that the population over the age of 64 is almost completely protected by vaccines, but also emphasised that doctors warn that younger people end up in hospitals, due to the low percentage of vaccinations in that population.
Brnabic pointed out that, when it comes to the vaccination process in the country, the response is not bad and that it now amounts to approximately 44%.
The Prime Minister stated that in some Belgrade municipalities, 70% of the total adult population will soon be vaccinated, noting that the worst turnout is in Tutin, which has not yet reached 10%, and the situation is bad in Novi Pazar, Lajkovac, Mionica, Raca, Raznja, Sjenica, Ub, Ljig.
The order of the first and last ten local self-governments in that sense does not change, she said and praised Priboj, Kladovo, Kikinda, Mali Zvornik, which are in the top 15 by the percentage of vaccination.
Also, Zitoradja was very bad in terms of the percentage of vaccinations, but, with the help and support of the Ministry of Health, the percentage of those immunised in that municipality is increasing every day, Brnabic emphasised.
