Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matic said on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the International Tourism Fair in Madrid FITUR, that the event represents hope for the tourism sector globally.
During her visit to the fair, the Minister met with Secretary General of the World Tourism Organisation Zurab Pololikashvili, with whom she discussed the importance of immunisation at COVID-19 for tourism recovery, but also overall economic development, as well as project activities in infrastructure and eco-tourism.
On that occasion, she pointed out that Serbia is among the leaders in Europe in the implementation of the vaccination plan, as well as that on the initiative of the relevant Ministry of Tourism, priority immunisation of employees in the catering and tourism industry is being implemented.
On this occasion, Matic also held a series of bilateral meetings, among others, with Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natela Turnava, with whom she discussed the possibilities of mutual recognition of digital certificates.
At the meeting with Minister of Tourism of Albania Blendi Klosi, Minister Tatjana Matic talked especially about regional cooperation, primarily about the mini-Schengen initiative.
