Prime Minister Ana Brnabic announced that, according to this morning's data, 1,955,260 people, or 34% of the adult population, received at least one dose of the vaccine in Serbia, stating that the plan is to have 2.1 million people vaccinated.
In a statement for Pink Television, Brnabic specified that 1,324,542 people, or 23% of adult citizens, have been vaccinated with both doses.
We have set a rather ambitious goal, but I think that now, thanks to the Sinofarm vaccine that arrived yesterday, and already today at all points in all municipalities, we will achieve that, the Prime Minister assessed.
She noted that Belgrade is excellent in vaccination, while on the other side there are municipalities such as Lajkovac, Zagubica, Mionica, Tutin, Novi Pazar, where more needs to be done.
Today, President Aleksandar Vucic will receive the second dose of the vaccine, the Prime Minister pointed out and reminded that on the day when he received the first dose, most people were vaccinated.
At the same time, she assessed that the visit of the President of the Republic to Brussels is important from many aspects, both economically and politically, among which is the continuation of the dialogue with Pristina, which the Serbian side is looking forward to.
Brnabic pointed out the importance of the project of building a high-speed railway from Belgrade to Nis and further to the border with North Macedonia, which President Vucic negotiated in Brussels.
Speaking about the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which is expected on 11 May, the Prime Minister said that Serbia currently has no other expectations than to implement what was agreed in the Brussels agreement, which is the formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities.
Only when what has already been agreed is implemented, we can talk about some other things, the Prime Minister explained and added that Serbia is looking forward to the continuation of the dialogue with Pristina.
