Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali held today a final meeting with the IMF Mission, led by Jan Kees Martijn, as part of consultations under Article IV of the IMF Statute.
Representatives of the National Bank of Serbia took part in the meeting.
The subject of the talks, held online, was a new arrangement that is to be signed with that international institution, as well as overall fiscal, monetary and macroeconomic trends amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new arrangement should be signed by the middle of this year, will not entail financial support, but will be exclusively of advisory character and will last two years and a half, by the end of 2023.
Mali underlined that the most important goal of the new arrangement will be to keep the results achieved and to continue with important structural reforms so that Serbia could achieve even higher rates of economic growth.
