Milan Parivodic
Speaking at a press conference to journalists who are covering the meeting of the Greek-Serbian business communities, Parivodic said that the delegation from Serbia has received a pledge from its Greek counterparts that the “Hellenic Plan” will be fully realised.
Parivodic said that today’s meeting has gained special importance for Greek-Serbian relations and added that representatives of more than 50 Serbian and Greek enterprises are attending the meeting. He recalled that Greece is one of the major investors in Serbia, but that Serbia is interested in increasing this investment twofold.
Parivodic said that Greek investments could be worth a minimum of €2.5 billion, whereas now this figure stands at over a billion euros.
According to Parivodic, problems concerning the company “Titan” in relation to EFG bank were discussed today, as well as other topics that included the construction project themed “One stop shop” and relaxation of visa restrictions for students and businessmen who travel from Serbia-Montenegro to Greece.
He said that Greek businessmen informed him of the problems faced by Greek construction firms that want to obtain work permits in Serbia-Montenegro, and of the inefficiency of the judiciary in Serbia.
Parivodic said that the intensive development of relations between Serbia-Montenegro and Greece will be shown on October 25 when a regional energy charter will be signed, while on October 31, Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica will pay an official visit to Greece.
