The latest international solutions to identification smart cards, new electronic passports and intelligent health cards have been presented, as well as solutions for using digital signatures and certificates in the infrastructure sector.
At the conference, Popovic pointed out that the Ministry is working full throttle on a national strategy for the information society, which should be adopted in the course of 2006.
According to Popovic, reforms of the internet domain are also underway, as is the set-up of a national PKI infrastructure (Public Key Infrastructure), which will help to establish a digital identity of all subjects within a network.
The Minister expressed hope that the significance of electronic services and E-Government will be recognised in Serbia and its establishing facilitated.
A specialised seminar for the employed in state bodies, public companies and local self-government was also held as part of the conference.
