No reforms of judiciary system without reformation of legal practice

Serbian Minister of Justice Zoran Stojkovic said today that the process of establishing clean, efficient and morally correct courts requires the establishing of the same standards in legal practice.

At the opening of an international symposium themed “Professional ethics of lawyers and cooperation between countries in the process of transition in judiciary sector”, Stojkovic pointed out that the issue of legal code will be of paramount importance once a new bill on legal practice is adopted.
Stojkovic recalled that Serbia-Montenegro has already signed agreements on cooperation between countries in the region concerning the work of prosecution offices and courts, pointing out the necessity of establishing such cooperation between the bar chambers of the countries in the region as well.
The international symposium was organized by the Belgrade Bar Chamber and the International Lawyers Union.
