Minister for European Integration and national IPA coordinator Jadranka Joksimovic proposed nine projects for the award of grants from the Investment Framework for the Western Balkans.
In a statement for Tanjug, Joksimovic reminded that the mentioned plan envisages EU investments in the amount of up to €9 billion in priority areas and projects in the Western Balkans, which should contribute to further integration in the region and improvement of ties with the Union, which will accelerate free movement of people and goods and deepen overall trade and economic cooperation.
In the field of transport, three projects have been proposed for investment grant, one of which is in the field of railway transport and represents the section of the railway Nis-Dimitrovgrad and Corridor 10, and the other two projects relate to the development of river transport infrastructure and solving critical sections on the Sava and Danube.
Joksimovic pointed out that in the field of energy, the continuation of the Trans-Balkan Corridor project - section represents the regional interconnection of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro and was proposed for the investment grant.
The Minister stated that a project has been proposed in the field of environment, which refers to the construction of wastewater treatment plants in Jagodina, Kikinda, Pirot, Požarevac, Vršac, Trstenik, Smederevo and Pancevo.
Joksimović mentioned that in this round, an investment grant in the amount of €35 million was applied for the project of building a new children's hospital Tirsova 2, which will be the most modern children's hospital, not only in Belgrade and Serbia, but also in the region.
