In a telephone statement to the Beta news agency, following a two-day visit to Munich where the event themed “Days of Serbian economy” took place, Bubalo said that he had received an official announcement of a considerable direct investment in Serbia’s car parts manufacturing industry.
Bubalo added that another German firm, dealing in maintaining energy systems, has also shown great interest in investing in Serbia.
According to Bubalo, several other successful presentations were held today, among which was a highly productive discussion with top officials from the Siemens company. Bubalo said that this company has serious plans regarding its operations in Serbia, such as increasing the number of employees working on projects in Serbia from the present 300 to 480.
The minister said that a great number of potential German investors, as well as Serbian businessmen presenting their projects in Munich, took part in an investment forum held as part of the event.
Bubalo stressed that Serbian businessmen did their best to convince and explain to potential German investors why this is the right time to invest in Serbia.
Serbian President Boris Tadic headed the Serbian delegation on this two-day visit to the German state of Bavaria. In addition to Bubalo, the delegation included Serbian Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Slobodan Milosavljevic, as well as the representatives of 23 Serbian companies, including “Trajal korporacija”, “PIK Becaj”, “RTB Bor”, “FAP”, “Hemofarm” and “Industrija motora Rakovica”.
