Speaking at a press conference marking the closing of a business-cultural event themed “Days of Italy in Belgrade”, Parivodic expressed his satisfaction with the successful cooperation between the Zastava car factory from Kragujevac and the Italian car manufacturer Fiat, pointing out that the actual effects of this year’s agreements on cooperation between Serbian and Italian businessmen will become visible in the next six months.
Parivodic expressed his conviction that the problem of debt towards Italian company Duferco will soon be solved, adding that the debt dates back to the 1990s and that it has not been settled to this day because of certain legal obstacles. The minister stressed that the Serbian government will do everything legally possible to resolve this issue.
Italian Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Antonio Zanardi Landi said that this year’s business event themed “Italy in Belgrade” has successfully ended, voicing hope that this event will become a traditional one in the years to come.
Landi said that nearly 2000 participants took part in this year’s event, among them some 900 businessmen from Italy.
The Italian Ambassador expressed his appreciation to the Serbian government for the interest shown in the event, at which, beside Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus, ten Serbian ministers took part, as well as the representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and other state institutions.
Landi also extended his appreciation to Serbian President Boris Tadic and Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic for the warm hospitality the Italian delegation has been met with in Belgrade.
According to Landi, nearly 1500 direct bilateral talks took place and were successfully closed during the event.
