Minister for European Integration and the coordinator of international development aid Jadranka Joksimovic signed amendments to the agreements by which the United States determined $22 million in grants to Serbia.
Joksimovic signed Contract No. 14 to the Agreement on Assistance between Serbia and the United States for Better Functioning of Public Administration and Contract No. 16 to the Agreement on Assistance between Serbia and the United States for a More Competitive Market Economy in the amount of $22 million.
She pointed out that the United States is one of the most important development partners of Serbia and that the projects are implemented by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in cooperation with the institutions of the government of Serbia.
Also, as she added, the United States is one of the most important partners in the non-governmental sector, which, through USAID, enables the realization of important projects.
According to her, in addition to supporting the economy, a significant part of the funds will be directed to the implementation of projects to support judicial reform and increase the efficiency of the judiciary, improve the regulatory framework in the media, and strengthen the capacity of relevant bodies to implement media reforms.
Joksimovic once again expressed gratitude to the United States for its readiness to provide comprehensive financial assistance to Serbia in conditions when the whole world is facing additional uncertainties caused by the pandemic.
