Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali, who is on a three-day visit to France, met yesterday with French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire, Minister of Foreign Trade Franck Riester and Minister of Transport and Energy Jean-Baptiste Djebbari.
Mali said that yesterday was a difficult, but very successful day for the Serbian delegation in Paris.
He stated that the Serbian delegation, apart from a meeting of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, had an opportunity to present to the French ministers everything that Serbia has done in the previous few years.
It is especially encouraging that many French companies are interested in taking part in many projects and the overall development of the Serbian economy precisely thanks to the wise economic policy conducted by Serbia.
He announced that by the end of the year the Serbian team and representatives of the company Alstom will kick start a decades-old dream of all citizens of Serbia, which is the construction of the Belgrade metro.
Together with representatives of this company, we will examine all details of the project, we will visit the metros in Paris and Lyon and will speak with representatives of the company Aegis Rail, so that we could start the construction of the first line of the metro at the end of the year, he specified.
During their visit to France, the Serbian delegation will see presentations of design solutions for the appearance of the Belgrade metro car.
The Serbian government, the City of Belgrade, Chinese company Power China and French companies Alstom and Aegis Rail signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the Belgrade Metro project in January.
