The session, which was opened by the Prime Minister and the President of the Council Ana Brnabic, was chaired by Vice President of the Council and the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Marija Obradovic.
Brnabic pointed out that public administration reform (PAR) is one of the three pillars of our European integration, in addition to the economy and the rule of law.
She supported Minister Obradovic and called on all members of the Council to support the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government in this demanding work, bearing in mind that in this mandate they will have important and difficult goals in front of them, especially when it comes to improving legislation in the field of PAR, but also protection citizens' rights and information of public importance.
Obradovic reminded that the PAR Strategy Proposal was made on the basis of current evaluation and with comprehensive consultations of representatives of state bodies, independent state bodies, citizens' associations and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, as well as participation of EU Delegation to Serbia and SIGMA/OSCE representatives.
The Strategy is an umbrella document that includes six areas through which the EU monitors Serbia's progress in the field of PAR and public finances.
The work on this document lasted for a year, passed a public debate, and after obtaining the opinion of the European Commission and the donor meeting, the opinion and adoption is expected at the session of the Government of Serbia.
The session discussed and adopted the Draft Conclusion on the adoption of the Report on the work of the working group for coordination of work in the field of internal financial control in the public sector for 2020, as well as information regarding the Sector Budget Support Programme in the field of public administration reform.
