Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Radomir Naumov said today at the opening of the First International Energy Fair that financial income from the energy sector in Serbia amounts to approximately €4 billion annually.

The government plans to invest $7 billion in the energy sector in Serbia by 2015, for the building of new and modernisation of existing power-generating capacities, said Naumov.
He announced that the Serbian government will stimulate private investments with respect to the construction of energy facilities, and pointed out that the aim of the energy fair is to inform the professional and scientific public that the first stage of reforms in Serbia’s energy sector has been completed. This completion opens new legal and institutional frames for doing business in this sector, the minister concluded.
