Serbian Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic and Austrian Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Gerhard Jandl agreed at a meeting yesterday that bilateral trade between the two countries has been growing at a steady pace and that there is a noticeable increase in Serbian exports to Austria.
From the year 2000 to August 2005, Austrian companies have invested a total of around €1 billion in Serbia, the two officials said and added that this inflow will probably speed up in the future.
The presence of a large number of Austrian companies in Serbia is evident, Parivodic and Jandl agreed and added that there are around 140 registered representative offices, of which 32 are very active.
The two officials also announced that a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Serbian Ministry of International Economic Relations and the Austrian Ministry for Economy and Labour will soon be signed in Vienna.
