Brnabic congratulated the United Kingdom for being the first country to authorise a COVID-19 vaccine from the companies Pfizer and BioNTech today, expressing hope that this vaccine will give good and fast results in immunising the population.
Morton said that the United Kingdom is ready to further improve cooperation with Serbia in the fight against coronavirus.
Speaking about economic cooperation, Brnabic expressed confidence that Serbia will continue to build strategic relations with the United Kingdom and that a trade agreement between the two countries will make a step forward in future economic cooperation.
As an exceptional example of cooperation in the field of infrastructure projects, the Prime Minister mentioned the construction of the Moravian Corridor, which is an important economic interest of Serbia.
The interlocutors expressed confidence that the two countries will establish more intensive cooperation, not only in the field of infrastructure and economy, but also in the field of environmental protection, which is emerging as an increasingly important topic, not only in Serbia, but also worldwide.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the British government, which, through projects such as digital transformation and the strengthening of e-government financed through the Fund for Good Governance, supported the reform process in Serbia.
She pointed out that the reform of education is one of the priorities of the Serbian government and emphasised the importance of the three-year programme "Schools for the 21st Century", which, thanks to the investments of the UK government, is being implemented by the British Council.
