Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated today in Nis that about 5,900 patients with COVID-19 have been hospitalised in COVID hospitals in Serbia and that it is not a problem to provide a sufficient number of beds, but enough health workers.
After the opening of the multi-purpose laboratory lamella at the Faculty of Electronics, Brnabic pointed out that the most important thing is that we still have enough space to take care of all those who need hospitalisation, but that some patients are sent from Belgrade to hospitals in other cities and municipalities.
We will soon, at the beginning of December, open a completely new COVID hospital in Belgrade, but it is important to know that we do not have enough health workers for all that. You can open all hospitals and put all sports halls in the COVID mechanism, but you do not have people who will treat you, the Prime Minister pointed out.
She appealed to the citizens to adhere to all measures that are both an obligation and a recommendation, adding that it is important for each of us to be individually responsible.
It is necessary for everyone to try to reduce movements and reduce all contacts until this wave passes, until the vaccine arrives, which I really hope we will have in December and until the situation starts to calm down, Brnabic said.
