By sectors, the production and distribution of electricity, gas, and water dropped 8.1 percent against last year’s average, ore and stone mining rose 4.4 percent and the processing industry also rose 0.7 percent.
The output of capital goods in August 2005 declined by 11.4 percent against the 2004 average, of durable consumer goods by 14.2 percent and of energy by 4.9 percent. Production of non-durable consumer goods reached the 2004 average monthly production, while production of intermediate goods, except for energy, rose 7.8 percent.
In the period between January and August 2005, industrial production fell 0.7 percent against the same period in 2004. The decline has been recorded in 17 areas making up 33 percent of total industrial production, and the increase in 12 areas accounts for 67 percent of total industrial output.
