Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali talked today with Ambassador of Israel to Serbia Yahel Vilan about the economic relations between the two countries and the investment of Israeli investors in Serbia.
On that occasion, Mali pointed out that investors recognised the efforts of the government of Serbia in creating a favourable business environment, which is best illustrated by the data on the volume of foreign direct investments, which amount to approximately €1.8 billion since the beginning of the year.
The Minister said that Serbia has learned a lot from Israel, especially in the field of innovation, and that in the last few years we have opened science and technology parks in Belgrade, Cacak, Nis and Novi Sad, as well as that thousands of companies operate successfully in them.
Vilan told the Minister that Israeli investors are extremely satisfied with the business in Serbia, and that they are very interested in additional investments in our country.
He assessed that the economic situation in Serbia is favourable today, and pointed out that Israel can learn a lot from Serbia when it comes to the economy and health, especially in a situation when all countries are struggling with the coronavirus pandemic.
The officials concluded that the relations between the two countries are at a high level, and that the opening of a joint state office in Jerusalem, which will deal with the development of economic cooperation, especially in the field of innovation, will contribute to even better relations, primarily economic.
