The Serbian Privatisation Agency said that representatives of the printed media in Serbia, whose founders are local self-governments, representatives of appropriate ministries, as well as founding-municipality representatives, held a meeting today on which it was stressed that the deadline for the privatisation of printed media in Serbia is April 23, 2006.
The aim of the meeting was to inform media houses and their founders on the privatisation process, as well as on their rights and obligations in this process.
According to the provisions of the Public Information Law, all printed media founded by the Republic of Serbia, a body of the local self-government or territorial autonomy will be closed down if not privatised within the set deadline.
A meeting of the representatives of appropriate ministries and from media houses, which consist of both printed and electronic media, will be held on September 28 in the Serbian Privatisation Agency’s premises.
